My companion is Sister Rogerson and she's way nice! We get along great and we can really relate to each other when it comes to life outside the MTC. We were actually called to be SISTER TRAINING LEADERS holy moly. We are in charge of all the sisters in our zone and we have to do the New Missionary Orientation on Wednesday when the newbies come in. We give them a tour and calm them down and such...not even a full week in here and I already have a leadership position BYEEEEE D:
To be completely honest, these last couple of days have been very difficult. We're thrown into rooms with investigators and we teach them and help them understand and it's HARD. I thought the MTC was just sitting in a classroom and learning about things we are going to teach. But NOPE, we immediately teach what we already know. Very hard. BUT, i have absolutely loved it. The spirit here is absolutely incredible and it never leaves! I bore my testimony in fast/testimony meeting yesterday which was intense bc so many missionaries but it's become so much easier to bear it! My testimony has quadrupled since just a couple days ago and I have so much more to do/learn! Gosh I love being a missionary.
The food here is great by the way! Joe was right when he said it's a lot like school lunch. They just give you so many more options and it's better quality. I just miss my momma's homemade meals..oh well.
WE SAW STEPHANIE NIELSON (the burned victim from the plane crash) AT THE PROVO TEMPLE AND HER ENTIRE BEAUTIFUL FAMILY AND SHE TOOK A HUGE PICTURE OF ALL OF US AND POSTED IT ON HER INSTAGRAM PAGE SO GO FIND ME :) :) :) I told her that I love reading her blog and "my mom also reads your blog and absolutely loves you" and she said that it was nice meeting me and she smiled so big at me and I could just feel the spirit being around her family. Such a great experience!
Okay okay okay here's a story. I was standing in line for lunch and my companion and I were talking to the sisters behind us and we were introducing ourselves and the sisters told us they were going to California speaking Spanish and I asked one of them how the language is coming along and she said "mos o menos" *1543 laughing emojis*
I really needed that because it was my second day and I was REALLY missing my family and I know Heavenly Father set that all up so that it could brighten my entire day.
We went to a meeting to meet our branch presidency and a quote that really stood out to me was "Comfort and ease doesn't bring you to your knees." THIS IS SO TRUE. I have prayed more here than any time in my entire life. Morning, night, for meals, with my companion, and constantly saying them in my heart/mind. If things were going so well and it was all easy, I most likely wouldn't be praying as much as I am. But, it's hard here and I'm constantly being stretched far out of my comfort zone which causes me to be on my knees a LOT. So, i hope you all keep saying your prayers :)
Thank you so much for your letters and kind words of advice! We get our DearElders every night and it's definitely the highlight. Last week there was one day that we got letters since Saturday was a holiday and Sunday there isn't mail. The one day, I got so much mail and a package while my district got hardly anything and they were so jealous of me sooo there's that. I have the best family in this entire world and it was a day that I needed to hear from them so THANK YOU to those who wrote :) DearElder's are the reason there's still life here in this gospel prison..I mean, MTC ;)
Well, my time is about up but I love you all SO SO MUCH. I think about you soo much and I hope you're all doing okay. I know I'm doing great, so don't worry too much about me!
I'm so grateful for the overwhelming support I've received so far! I miss you. I love you. And being a missionary is the greatest thing I've ever decided to do. :)
I am so proud of Sister Brianne Watson, she is such an inspiration to me...we can do hard things! I can't wait to hear more amazing adventures from the always entertaining SBW!! For those who gave been patiently waiting for her, she on her way! New Hampshire, here she comes!!
